The goal of a psychological assessment (aka mental health assessment) is to carefully and comprehensively assess and identify strengths and areas of need across multiple areas. In doing so, we seek to understand what may be interfering with our client’s ability to function at their best, and to live vibrant and meaningful lives.
After completing the assessment, we offer our clients comprehensive and therapeutic feedback that includes practical recommendations to facilitate growth. An assessment usually includes recommendations to help the client effectively deal with their difficulties and achieve their goals.
A psychological assessment can address the following questions:
What is the nature of my psychological difficulty?
Would therapy be helpful for me, and what kind?
What explains my attention challenges - ADHD, or something else?
How can I improve my relationships with others?
How can I be more organized and productive, and work toward my goals?
Can school or work accommodations be helpful, and if so, which ones?
